UPPER PENINSULA, MI - Whew, we knew the western end of the Upper Peninsula was set up to get hit with the most snow during this three-day Thanksgiving storm system that just wrapped up. The area was blanketed with Winter Storm Warnings and there were travel advisories repeated daily as the rain turned to snow - then heavy snow - on Tuesday, Wednesday and into Thursday.

But now the National Weather Service has put together a list of the area’s 72-hour snowfall totals - and we’re seeing some impressive numbers.

The highest numbers were in the U.P., but there were also spots in the central part of Northern Michigan - counties sandwiched between Houghton Lake and Petoskey - that had some high totals as well.

Here are some of the highlights:

Herman, Baraga County: 31 inches

Paulding, Onton
