A guest who "completely trashed" a North East hotel room and left blood on the floors and walls claimed to have no memory of causing the carnage. The Crowne Plaza, in the city centre , maintained that Alexander Sweeney caused £3,000-worth of damage when he stayed in one of their rooms, although he claims it was a lot less.
A court heard that, when the manager entered the 32-year-old's room, she found blood on the floors and walls, a framed picture had been smashed, glass was all over the carpet, an air conditioning control unit had been ripped from the wall, a light had been damaged and the bulb taken out and the curtains had been pulled off their railings. Sweeney, who'd been staying at the hotel with his partner, was arrested but later claimed to have no memo
