The run of 16 decreases in 17 days to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended Friday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.729.
The average price dropped 15.8 cents over the run, including 1.4 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped 13 consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.
The streak of decreases followed a 12-day streak of increases totaling 26.4 cents that boosted the average price to its highest amount since April 10.
The average price is 6.2 cents less than one week ago, but 10.1 cents more than one month ago and 28.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.764 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
