It was complete domination for the Clairton football team in Friday's PIAA Class 1A semifinal game against Greenville at Heller Stadium in Ellwood City.
And it could have been much worse if it wasn't for two Clairton turnovers and several penalties.
Clairton scored 43 points in the first half and cruised to a 57-0 mercy-rule victory to earn a berth in the PIAA title game against defending champion Bishop Guilfoyle, Thursday at Cumberland Valley's Chapman Field at 1 p.m.
Clairton (14-1) was making its 11th appearance in a PIAA semifinal game and earned its eighth trip to the finals. Greenville (12-2), the District 10 champion, was making its third semifinal appearance and first since 1996 and lost for the third time.
