LEWISTOWN – For most of the night, momentum seemed saddled to Twin Valley’s hip, as the District 3 Class 4A champions could do no wrong in building up a massive 22-point edge through one half of football.
Twin Valley’s defense kept setting its offense up with fantastic field position again and again, and the Raiders consistently took advantage.
Then things changed.
Aliquippa (10-4) trailed 28-6 in the opening half but used a dominant third quarter by quarterback Marques Council and running back Akiva Woods to cut the lead to four. In the end, the Quips couldn’t get the final score they needed in the final minute, as Twin Valley got one final stop to punch its ticket to the PIAA Class 4A championship game on Friday night, eking out a 28-24 victory over Aliquippa at Mifflin County’s Chapm
