GEORGETOWN, Texas — Holiday lights, live music and busy sidewalks made Georgetown's historic square the place to be on Black Friday, as local shops kicked off one of their biggest shopping weekends of the year.
Families gathered in anticipation, as Georgetown and Williamson County leaders counted down to light up the courthouse and square for their annual Lighting of the Square event.
Crowds were large for local stores, bringing in hundreds of people to the square on an already busy weekend. Places like Divine Treasures and Six Strings were packed, as people wandered in and out of stores during the light ceremony.
