NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A family is mourning the loss of a young woman who they said was full of joy and always wore a smile as she prepared to become a mother for the first time.

Jaylah Donald, 19, of Atlanta, was seven months pregnant with a baby boy. Her grandmother, Genette Anderson, said the family had spent Thanksgiving together.

She said as the night was wrapping up, Jaylah's mother was going to give a neighbor a ride home. The house was just down the street along Fairview Road in Covington.

Troopers said the driver hit them on the passenger side. Jaylah died on scene. Her mother was flown to Grady in Atlanta.
