SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota football team did not have an easy rout to this year’s FCS playoffs.
The Yotes were 2-3 through their first five games with the injuries still coming.
Following their third loss of the season, they finished 6-1.
Travis Johansen, USD football’s head coach said, “But to turn over as many players as we did. Both portal, graduation, season-ending injuries, all of that combined really has tested the entire roster and to watch guys step up the way they have over the course of the last twelve weeks and keep battling together, turn into a pretty good football team that’s got an opportunity to go win a national title, pretty proud of that group.”
USD hosts Drake Saturday afternoon at noon.
