For the first time in program history, the Spartans have advanced to the state final.
Southern Lehigh scored the first 21 points, experienced a wild comeback from Cardinal O’Hara and regained the lead on senior running back Sean Steckert ’s 4-yard touchdown run with 31 seconds left in the fourth quarter to clinch a 28-24 victory in a PIAA Class 4A semifinal on Friday night at Whitehall High School.
The Spartans, who improved to 14-1 on the season, will play unbeaten District 3 champion Twin Valley in the 4A state championship game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cumberland Valley High School. Twin Valley topped District 7 champion Aliquippa 28-24 in the other semifinal on Frida
