(press release) — After finishing 7-1 in the Southeastern Conference this year, the Bulldogs have now clinched a spot in another SEC Championship Game (SECG). Georgia topped Georgia Tech for the eighth consecutive time Saturday afternoon before watching Texas down Texas A&M Saturday night in Austin. The Longhorn victory knocked the Aggies out of a spot for the SECCG and put the Bulldogs into the league title game.
Georgia joins Florida (1992-96) as the only teams to ever make a record five consecutive SECGs.
The Bulldogs will be making their 13th appearance, tying Florida for second most in SEC history. Alabama holds the mark with 15 since the game began in 1992. If Alabama beats Auburn Saturday night, the Bulldogs will face the Crimson Tide in the SECCG. If Auburn wins, Georgia wi
