MOORESVILLE — Jon Ross’ first basketball game for the Hornets since December 2023 was an overwhelming success.
A 6-foot-3 senior wing, Ross scored 26 points and led the Hornets to a 77-73 overtime win against North Lincoln. The game was played at Lake Norman High on Friday afternoon as part of a high-powered Phenom Hoops Thanksgiving festival.
It was a career high for Ross. His previous best was 21.
“Jon made five 3-pointers and a lot of big free throws, including two technicals late in the game,” Salisbury head coach Albert Perkins said. “I’m glad we were able to pull it out, but we’ve got to defend better.”
Salisbury staged a fourth-quarter comeback after trailing most of the game.
Senior Braylon Taylor and freshman Royce Perkins scored 14 each
