A winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 12:25 a.m. valid from Sunday 1 a.m. until Monday 1 a.m. for Herkimer and Hamilton counties.

"Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "Periods of snow will develop late Saturday night and continue into Sunday. Snowfall rates may be close to one inch per hour at times on Sunday morning into the early afternoon hours."

"Travel could be hazardous due to snow covered roadways and reduced visibility," comments the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."
