AMARILLO, Texas (KCBD) - The Idalou Wildcats (10-3) avenged last year’s playoff elimination as they edged out the No. 6 Canadian Wildcats 24-17.
Canadian trialed 17-3 in the third until QB Weston Mitchell connected with Isaac Sanez to make it a one-score game. Idalou’s defense stepped up with Mitchell’s pass was tipped by Caleb Hollingsworth, which led to an Aiden Barrera interception. In the fourth quarter, a keeper from Idalou QB Kamdon Lutrick extended the Wildcats’ lead as they held on for the 24-17 win.
Idalou will be featured as this week’s “End Zone Team of the Week” for the second time this season, and they will be featured Sunday evening following NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” broadcast between the Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders.
