AKRON, Ohio — Milan Parris’ 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown did not surprise Avon senior linebacker Ryan Stolarski.
He expected Walsh Jesuit (11-2) to make some big plays. He knew he and his teammates would do the same Friday night at the University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium in the OHSAA Division II football state semifinals.
Stolarski just didn’t expect a shutout the rest of the way.
“They just beat Hoban,” he said after Avon’s 38-7 win , “so I knew it was coming. I wasn’t even surprised to be honest. I just knew we had to go out and respond.”
Avon’s response: It didn’t give up another score.
