The number of Solihull smokers is below the national average, new council figures have revealed.
But the amount of smokers in the north of the borough is continuing to cause concern.
A new Solihull Council report shows that in 2022/23 – the latest period for data – the smoking rate in the borough was at 12.8 per cent.

This is below England’s average of 14.7 per cent.
The government’s aim is to get to a 5 per cent or less rate by 2030 but to achieve that in the borough officers and councillors say targeted action needs to be taken in north Solihull.
