Russian drone and missile attacks on Kyiv killed at least two people and wounded 15 Saturday, officials said, as renewed U.S.-led peace negotiations gathered momentum.
Falling debris from intercepted drones hit residential buildings and knocked out power in western Kyiv. Ukrainian negotiators were set to meet U.S. counterparts this weekend, according to an official in Ukraine’s presidential administration.
President Donald Trump released a 28-point proposal last week that heavily favored Russia, prompting swift Ukrainian engagement.
The attacks came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the resignation of chief of staff Andrii Yermak, the lead negotiator, after anti-corruption investigators searched his residence — a blow that could disrupt Kyiv’s negotiating strategy.
