LOGAN — A 25-year-old Logan man with a history of assaults has admitted to attacking a man and holding him against his will. Ethan Drake Mortensen had been in the Cache County Jail since the latest arrest in July .

According to court records, Mortensen appeared Nov. 19 in Logan’s 1 st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to aggravated assault, amended to a third-degree felony; and unlawful detention, amended to a class A misdemeanor.

According to prosecutors, Logan City Police officers were called to a Logan residence July 27, after Mortensen reportedly called 911, saying an individual had broken into his home. He said the individual broke the door down and that he took the man’s phone to call law enforcement.
