The release of a convicted killer who has the words "psychopath" and "chaos" tattooed across his forehead has been stopped at the last minute after the Justice Secretary stepped in. Reginald Wilson was set to be freed from jail this week after 34 years behind bars for the savage murder of a respected doctor and father-of-three.
In 1990, Wilson, who has since changed his surname to Zenshen, battered David Birkett to death before mocking police with a note detailing his intention to "kill as many pigs as I can". Officers found Wilson's hiding place in a derelict property covered in graffiti, including the German term kopfjäger , meaning headhunter. Following a Parole Board assessment in October 2025, the killer was deemed fit for release, reports TeessideLive .
