The brackets are set for the regional finals in the NCHSAA playoffs . State championship games are determined for the 1A and 8A brackets.
Robbinsville clinched a trip to the 1A state championship game, while Murphy is still alive in 2A and Brevard advanced to the regional final in 4A.
The playoffs will feature six rounds in each classification except for 1A and 8A, which have a smaller bracket. The top eight seeds in the east and west brackets each receive a bye in the first round. Unlike previous years, top seeds are not decided by conference champions. Seeding is done entirely by RPI rankings.
The regional finals will take place Dec. 5, while the state championships will take place Dec. 11-13. The NCHSAA has not announced which classification will play when and where.
