After Jakob Poeltl blocked old friend Pascal Siakam Wednesday night, the Raptors had the ball with 14.4 seconds left in a tie game with the Indiana Pacers, and almost everyone was in a hurry.
But Brandon Ingram was not, and neither was Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic . No timeout. With about eight seconds left, Ingram was handed the ball near half court, and Siakam got into a stance. Ingram played with the ball for a second, getting into a rhythm, as if he was at a park in the summertime. Patience.
With about five seconds left, Ingram started his drive, going left. With about three seconds left, he gathered the ball, having driven Siakam back. By the time he released his 14-foot pull-up jumper, he was alone on a mountaintop, and Siakam was barely in the frame. With 1.3 seconds left
