An assault victim is to get £1,500 compensation after he was beaten up by a fellow drinker outside a Lanarkshire pub. Max Dickson was handed the financial penalty and placed under supervision for 12 months when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.
Sheriff Louise Gallacher also ordered the first offender to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to prison. Dickson, 23, of East Kilbride, admitted assaulting a man to his severe injury at the Bonnie Prince Charlie in High Common Road on October 12 last year, reports LanarkshireLive.
Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said the victim and his sister were enjoying a drink together around 10.15pm. She told the court: "CCTV shows the accused speaking to the victim's sister. They appeared to be laughing and joking.
