Syracuse, N.Y. —Syracuse University unveiled a prominent exhibit on Friday in the JMA Dome that honors the men who wore the school’s legendary No. 44 in football.

The Legend of 44 display features memorabilia, game-used items like cleats, helmets and jerseys and even the Heisman Trophy itself.

The new display is located at Club 44 in the dome near Gate C.

The collection was donated by Rob Konrad, the last man to wear the legendary No. 44 at Syracuse University before the number was retired in 2005.

Konrad, a first-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 1999 who spent six years in the NFL, procured the collection over the last 20 years at a cost of over $2 million.

He said the collection belongs in the dome so Syracuse fans can enjoy it for years to come.
