The clock is ticking for Michigan lawmakers to deliver on their deal with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to send new economic development policies her way before the end of the year.
As part of their budget negotiations, House Speaker Matt Hall, R-Richland Township, and Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, D-Grand Rapids, pledged they would pass legislation before 2026 "that will make it easier to create and retain good-paying, high-skill jobs in Michigan," according to a news release from Whitmer's office.
