(L-R) Michigan Wolverines defensive back Jyaire Hill tackles Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith during an NCAA football game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

The No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) and No. 15 Michigan Wolverines (9-2, 7-1) meet Saturday at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's NCAA football odds around the Ohio State vs. Michigan odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions for the best bets.

Michigan leads the all-time series 62-51-6, with 1 vacated win (2010) for Ohio State. The Wolverines have won the past 4 meetings, including a 13-10 victory last season as 19.5-point underdogs in Columbus. Michigan is also 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in the span.

Ohio State pounded Rutgers 42-9 last Saturday, even without top WRs Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. The dynamic duo missed the game due to lower-body injuries, but the Buckeyes still covered as 29-point home favorites, improving to 9-1-1 ATS this season. The Under is 4-2 in their past 6 games, and 6-3 in the previous 9.

Michigan is coming off a 45-20 victory as a 14-point favorite at Maryland last Saturday as the Over (46.5) cashed. QB Bryce Underwood passed for 215 yards and 2 TDs, while RB Bryson Kuzdzal ran for 100 yards and 3 scores, filling in for RB Jordan Marshall (shoulder). The Wolverines have won 5 in a row since an Oct. 11 loss at USC, but the cover last week was their first in 4 games. The Over has cashed in 2 in a row, and 3 of the past 4 outings.

With Indiana's win at Purdue Friday night, Ohio State must win in Ann Arbor to earn a spot in next Saturday's Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis to face the No. 2 Hoosiers (12-0, 9-0). If Michigan beats Ohio State, Washington (8-3, 5-3) must upset No. 5 Oregon (10-1, 7-1) for the Wolverines to make the Big Ten title game. The Ducks are 7-point road favorites at the Huskies -- kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS) -- and go to the conference championship with a win and a Michigan win.

The forecast in Ann Arbor calls for snow to hold off until late in the second half, if at all. There is a 40 percent chance of snow for 3 p.m. ET and beyond, and winds will be 9-12 MPH, which is manageable.

Ohio State at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Ohio State 22, Michigan 18

Moneyline

Ohio State (-400) will cost 4 times the potential return. That's too much risk for not enough reward. The Buckeyes have found a way to lose 4 in a row in this series -- granted there was some "funny stuff" going on in the Wolverines' video department.

However, with the Wolverines (+310) at home, if anything, they are a tempting play.

I'll PASS, though.

Against the spread

MICHIGAN +10 (-110) is definitely worth playing at home catching double digits.

Along with the 4 consecutive losses, the Buckeyes didn't cover the spread in those either -- they were favored in 3 of them. The one game as an underdog? The meeting in Michigan Stadium 2 years ago when the Wolverines prevailed 30-24 as 3-point favorites.

Michigan should at least keep this within 1 score, if not winning outright in the Big House.

The big question is whether Marshall will be able to shake off a shoulder injury to play against the Buckeyes strong defense. Reports claim he "wouldn't miss it for the world." Michigan might need a strong run game with snow in the forecast. Kuzdzal did a good job in Marshall's absence against Maryland. Kudzal could turn out to be an unheralded hero in this bitter rivalry if he runs the Wolverines to victory while Marshall is out.

The Buckeyes have several injury questions, too, as Smith and Tate were sidelined last week. They made the trip to Ann Arbor, but their official status won't be known until about 2 hours before kickoff.

Over/Under

UNDER 43.5 (-110) is worth playing lightly. Ohio State's defense has been stout, and the Under has cashed in 4 of the past 6 games.

Last season, Michigan won a low-scoring defensive slog 13-10, which was a departure from recent seasons which saw the Over hit in the 10 previous meetings from 2013 to 2023 -- they didn't play in the 2002 Covid season.

The Over is 3-1 in Michigan's past 4 games, but the Under is 3-0 in its past 3 in the Big House.
