One play in Friday’s loss to the Chicago Bears painted a clear picture of just how disjointed this Eagles’ offense is — and why Jalen Hurts should receive blame for this mess, too.

Early in the second quarter, the Eagles were driving for what could have been a game-tying, momentum-shifting touchdown. Instead, they shot themselves in the foot.

The Eagles lined up in an empty set with five pass-catchers. The Bears lined up with seven players up near the line of scrimmage. They sent them all on a zero blitz, leaving four defensive backs to cover five Eagles. That should have produced a big play, if not a touch
