Dramatic footage shows flames engulfing a shed on a residential Darlington street after a fire reportedly 'covered the area in smoke for hours'.

Firefighters were called to a property on Nickstream Lane at around 5.12pm on Thursday (November 27), after a fire broke out in a shed.

Two fire engines fought the flames, as 'clouds of smoke' covered the area and explosions were reportedly heard through the streets.

Now, video footage shows the extent of the fire- which firefighters have confirmed involved 'miniature butane cylinders and a motorbike'- which was contained to the shed.

The video shows flames engulfing the shed, while plumes of smoke surround the area. Residents can be heard expressing their shock and horror in the footage- though The Northern Echo has muted this content.
