Jeremy Corbyn called for unity as he launched the first Your Party conference, admitting there had been "mistakes" in establishing the party.
Addressing the opening of a two-day gathering in Liverpool, the former Labour leader said the emerging left-wing party had "a unique opportunity" to create "a socialist party of mass appeal" in opposition to a "triopoly of political thinking in Parliament".
However, the party's launch has been marred by internal tensions, with a row between former Labour MPs Mr Corbyn and Zarah Sultana earlier this year leading to a flawed membership rollout and potential legal disputes.
Two other Independent MPs, Adnan Hussain and Iqbal Mohamed, pulled out of the party's founding process, partly because of internal squabb
