PARK RAPIDS, Minn. — TJ Erickson, Park Rapids educator, former guide and popular YouTube content creator, covers a variety of topics designed to help people learn more about some aspect of fishing. Whether it’s narrowing down where to fish, what bait to use or gaining a better understanding of what lake maps and underwater sonar can tell you, much of his programming emphasizes education.

His videos are a coordinated mix of action on top of the water/ice, synced with underwater video and recorded sonar that shows what’s going on under the surface.

He mostly fishes for walleyes and crappies in — and most often around — the central and northwestern parts of Minnesota, with trips mixed in to other more high-profile destinations, such as Lake of the Woods, Upper Red Lake and Lake Winnipeg.
