President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have plunged to a new low as he heads into the final weeks of 2025, as the Republican president posted negative ratings among every major pollster.

Trump’s average disapproval rating stood at 56% on Saturday, according to The New York Times poll aggregator , with just 41% approving of the second-term president.

After an initial burst of popularity with his inauguration in January, Trump’s popularity started to slip in March as his administration began making widespread cuts across the federal government.

An average of 49% of Americans said they disapproved of Trump at that point, compared to 47% who approved. Given the margins of error in most polls, that’s a statistical dead heat.
