Massachusetts residents are in for a chilly but diminishingly windy Saturday before a quick warming trend and rain move in on Sunday, followed by a chance of a major snowfall during the week.

For Saturday, expect cold and breezy conditions across the state, according to the National Weather Service . While the wind isn’t as strong as Friday, temperatures are expected only to reach the 30s and low 40s.

The strongest winds are on Saturday morning, but they will calm down by the afternoon.

Specifically, Boston’s high for Saturday is 42 degrees; Hyannis is 41 degrees; Pittsfield is 35 degrees (the coldest spot); Springfield is 41 degrees, and Worcester is 39 degrees.
