PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A chaotic crime scene ended with one motorcyclist shot, and the suspected shooter dead after being struck by a car in central Phoenix late Friday night.

Phoenix police were called to the shooting just before 11 p.m. off of Interstate 17 and 7th Avenue. Investigators say two motorcyclists got into a fight, leading to one shooting the other. The motorcyclist that was shot was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the alleged shooter was then struck by a car not far from the initial crime scene. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

Due to the active crime scene, investigators have shut down 7th Avenue north and southbound off of the freeway. Drivers cannot get onto the freeway from the area and must use the access road.
