WASHINGTON, D.C . – In 2021, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) sounded the alarm about the Biden Administration’s admission of unvetted Afghan nationals into the United States during “Operation Allies Welcome.” Early on November 26th, two National Guardsmen were tragically shot by one of those Afghan nationals.

Following the shooting, Senator Banks called on DHS Secretary Noem to immediately locate and vet all Afghan nationals let in by the Biden Administration during “Operation Allies Welcome.”

“The Trump Administration should deport any Afghan nationals found without legal status. Likewise, refugees with legal status, but who fail to pass vetting standards, should have their status revoked and be deported,” Sen. Banks said.
