Multiple major roads close as winter weather stalls cars, leads to crashes

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Interstate 70, Interstate 44 and Interstate 170 are three of the roads that have been impacted by Saturday’s winter weather.

Intestate 70 is closed at Jennings Station Road in both the eastbound and westbound directions, as of 8:10 a.m. Saturday. MoDOT does not give a reason for the closure, with Gateway Guide listing the reason as “Other.”

Cameras in the area show traffic at a standstill.

St. Louis police have listed other crashes and following complications. At around 8:30 a.m., city police reported a crash into a power pole at Chouteau Avenue and S. 14th Street, downing power lines and requiring aid from Ameren.

At 8:40 a.m., St. Louis police post that the Interstate 44 is closed eastbound near Pine street after multiple tractor trailers became stuck
