Walmart and Target have announced changes to their return policies to give customers more time to return holiday purchases.

Usually, Walmart permits 90 days after purchase to return most items, according to the company’s website . The exception is products that were sold through Walmart Marketplace, which have a 30-day return window, electronics (30 days) and wireless phones (14 days).

However, from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, most items purchased in-store or online are returnable until Jan. 31. Marketplace participation can vary by seller; therefore, checking Walmart’s return policy ahead of time is suggested.

Target is also offering more time to customers to return purchases made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, the company‘s return policy states. The return window begins Dec. 26.
