Millions of benefit claimants will receive a bonus payment within the next few days.

The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) pays out a Christmas bonus every year, worth £10.

It is normally paid in December, although it can sometimes take up until January to arrive in bank accounts.

The automatic payment is given to those on certain benefits, including Carer's Allowance and Disability Living Allowance.

A full list of the eligible benefits can be found below.

To get the payments, people must be in receipt of one of the benefits during the 'qualifying week' - usually the first full week of December.
