BELMONT — South Point’s Lineberger Stadium has been a “House of Horrors” for past Crest football teams, Charger dreams of state titles in 2012 and 2022 each meeting their end on the Red Raiders’ home turf.

Its path to an NCHSAA state title again running through Belmont, Crest made sure the old stumbling block didn’t trip it up once again.

Down seven at halftime, the fourth-ranked Chargers finished with 21 unanswered points in Friday’s NCHSAA 5A West semifinal, earning a 28-14 victory over No. 1 South Point.
