President Donald Trump continues to see his approval rating drop – with a new Gallup poll registering the lowest of his second term.

In a Gallup poll conducted from Nov. 3-25, 36% approved of Trump's job performance, down from 41% in October. That approaches Trump's lowest-ever approval rating of 34% in 2021, near the end of his first term after the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot, according to Gallup. Trump's previous low approval rating during his second term, Gallup says, was 37% in July.

Trump's approval rating fell among Republicans and Independents, as well as Democrats. Republicans’ rating is the lowest of Trump’s second term (84%) down from 91%. With Independents, Trump's approval rating fell to 25%, down from 33% in October. Democrats gave Trump an approval rating of 3%, down from 6% the previous month.

Trump approval ratings down, disapproval ratings up in Gallup poll

After months of relatively stable approval ratings, Trump has seen his ratings drop over the last month or so. It reached a new low of 42.3% on Nov. 14 in the RealClearPolitics Poll Average, as the 43-day government shutdown ended and the controversy on Jeffrey Epstein's emails heated up. Trump's approval rating is currently 42.7% on RealClearPolitics Poll Average.

The New York Times poll aggregator showed Trump's approval has fallen to a low of 41% during his second term, down from 52% approval in January.

Trump's disapproval rating has also risen to 60%, up from 54% in October. The decline in approval comes amid continued concern about high prices, while the Trump administration continues to deploy National Guard troops to U.S. cities and, on the international front, plans a heightened military operation against Venezuela drug traffickers and is pressuring Ukraine to accept a peace agreement.

The Gallup poll was completed the day before two members of the West Virginia National Guard were shot in a "targeted" ambush while on duty in Washington, D.C. Sarah Beckstrom, an Army Specialist from Summersville, West Virginia, died from her wounds on Nov. 27.

Trump's administration approval ratings on economy, Ukraine decline

Since March, Trump’s approval ratings have fallen by 12 points on the federal budget and 10 points on the situation in Ukraine, according to Gallup. Trump's handling of immigration has fallen 9 points since February, according to Gallup. Also down: the administration's handling of the situation in the Middle East and the economy, down 7 and 6 points, respectively, since February.

The poll numbers suggest MAGA voters may be rethinking their support for Trump. Republican Gray Holland voted for Trump in the last presidential election, but said he’s "not a big fan" of the president anymore.

He cited continued high costs as one of the chief reasons, but he also noted financial aid for Israel and the failure to fully release the investigative files associated with convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein as his reasons.

“We need to focus on America first and what we have going on our own turf … that's what Trump campaigned on, and I haven't seen too much of it,” Holland, a 24-year-old sales rep from Birmingham, Alabama told USA TODAY in an interview.

But some Trump supporters are cutting the president some slack. Justin Fernandez, a registered Democrat, said he tends to vote in a more conservative direction and supported Trump in all three presidential elections. "I don't agree with everything he does, and I don't like him acting like a high school kid online, but overall he's had the best ideas, and he's willing to try different things," the 66-year-old Ohio writer said in an interview.

"And, you know, every president fails and succeeds in some ways," Fernandez said.
