S.W. Water Street in Peoria will be closed from Liberty Street to the entrance of the Peoria Riverfront Museum Parking Deck on Tuesday, December 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The closure is being implemented for the Christmas in the Village Community Tree Lighting event, which is sponsored by Choose Greater Peoria.

During this period, drivers will still have access to the Peoria Riverfront Museum Parking Deck. Access to the MEL lot at the foot of Liberty Street will also remain available.

Traffic that would normally use S.W. Water Street is advised to use S.W. Washington Street as an alternative route. Drivers are encouraged to exercise extra caution in the 100-200 blocks of S.W. Water Street during the closure.
