But there’s an important reason why the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. publicly releases information about winners — transparency.
Ontario’s lottery operator frequently states in its public communications the “OLG makes sure that the right prizes are paid to the right people every time.”
So, when news broke recently that a Toronto man was charged by police after allegedly claiming a large lottery prize for himself that ought to have belonged to a group, eyes turned to the protections provided to OLG players.
