Sainsbury’s has made a big change to its Nectar loyalty scheme .

If you find yourself in desperate need of groceries but can’t pop to the shops, you can now order the supermarket essentials you need on Deliveroo , without missing out on points.

Nectar has now been rolled out to the takeaway delivery app to allow members to collect points when they shop with the supermarket on the platform.

When placing an order with participating Sainsbury’s stores, shoppers will now have the option to input the card number registered to their Nectar account at checkout.

You can then earn one Nectar point per £1 on eligible products bought through Deliveroo.

The loyalty scheme is not available through Uber Eats or any other convenience platform yet.
