A mum from Newcastle has made a plea to help her profoundly deaf two-year-old daughter hear for the first time. Joanna Plunkett is fundraising for her daughter Madison to get bilateral cochlear implants , which could change her life completely.
Joanna, 36, lives in Dubai for work, with her husband Nathan, 32, from Gateshead , their seven-year-old son Mason. The family, who welcomed second child Maddie in July of 2023, weren't aware of the extent of her hearing loss until the last few weeks.
After various tests and scans over the period of several months, it was confirmed to Maddie's parents that she has between 80% and 100% hearing loss in both of her
