KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The city of Killeen and Friends in Crisis will open a warming center tonight to provide shelter from the extreme cold that is expected to come into the area tonight.
The city of Killeen says the center will be open from 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, through 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Friends in Crisis, 412 E. Sprott St.
The warming center is available to anyone in the community who might be in need of shelter, including those without heat or experiencing power outages.
The City of Killeen opens warming centers when temperatures or wind chill factors are expected to fall to 32 degrees or below.
