The grieving family of a young footballer have paid an emotional tribute to a boy who had an 'incredible energy for life.' Former Nottingham Forest academy goalkeeper Joshua Travis, 14, died after being hit by a train earlier this week.

British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to the railway line in Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire, just after 7pm on Wednesday (November 26) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious, NottinghamshireLive reports. Tributes quickly flooded in from the football family as Joshua was confirmed to be the victim. View 2 Images
