Northern Arizona football had not typically been in a position to play meaningful games late in November until head coach Brian Wright arrived in Flagstaff nearly two years ago. All of the Lumberjacks’ games in 2025 were vital in building up a playoff resume.

They had that all but squared away before last week’s gut-wrenching loss to a Weber State team treading water to end the season. Any chance at a second straight playoff appearance disappeared.
