LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Laredo Port of Entry arrested a man wanted in Illinois on an outstanding felony warrant for a sex-related offense against a minor on Thanksgiving Day.
CBP officers at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge stopped bus passenger 76-year-old Antonio Diaz Vargas for secondary inspection on Nov. 26. Biometric verification through law enforcement databases showed that Diaz Vargas had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor issued by the Waukegan Police Department in Waukegan, Illinois.
CBP officers took Diaz Vargas to a local jail for adjudication of the warrant.
