The Carolina Beach Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting early Saturday morning that left one person dead.

According to a police news release, a suspect was taken into custody after police responded to the shooting at a residence in the 700 block of Harper Avenue just after midnight on Saturday, Nov. 29.

“This is an isolated incident due to both individuals knowing each other, and there is no threat to the public,” the news release stated. “This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released at a later time.”
