KANSAS CITY, Kan. —

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is investigating an early morning crash that claimed the life of a man in his 60s.

Police said officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of North 38th Street to investigate an injury crash involving an SUV. Advertisement

Investigators believe the vehicle was northbound on 38th Street when it veered off the road into a parking lot where it struck two posts.

Emergency crews declared the driver dead at the scene.

Police said the victim is believed to be a man in his 60's. Full identification is pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
