Cards and letters being collected in Sarnia for troops overseas

Army cadets in Sarnia are collecting cards and letters for Canadian Armed Forces members serving overseas during the holidays.

Officer Cadet Jeremy Kearney said members of the 102 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps will collect cards and letters during the city’s Santa Claus Parade Dec. 6, and they can also be dropped off Dec. 3, 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., at the Sarnia Armoury on Confederation Street.

“We also reached out to a couple of the schools here in Sarnia and they’re going to be writing letters with some of their students that we’re going to be send off” to military members overseas, he said.

Members of the cadet corps also wrote letters during a recent weekly meeting at the armoury, Kearney said.

“It really just helps bring the morale up and the positivity back”
