A senior GP wrote prescriptions for a family member in order to use the medication himself, then lied about it to try cover his tracks. Dr Masud Prodhan , who once hit the headlines when he went to work on his wedding day to help during a staffing crisis , has been struck off after a tribunal found he was guilty of serious misconduct.
Over a four year period Dr Prodhan, who ran Gloucester House Medical Practice in Urmston and Old Trafford Medical Practice, 'self-prescribed' more than 700 tablets of the medication, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service heard.
