Bob Mortimer has issued a "sad" update regarding his cherished Gone Fishing companion, their dog Ted.

The comedian has presented the much-loved BBC series alongside Paul Whitehouse since 2018.

Throughout this time, with the eighth series presently broadcasting, Ted has regularly accompanied them on their angling adventures, but during a guest spot on Saturday Kitchen today, (29 November), Bob provided a worrying revelation.

When presenter Matt Tebbutt enquired about Ted's wellbeing, Bob playfully adopted a voice, mimicking: "I'm alright mate."

He subsequently revealed: "No, he's knocking on a bit," reports the Mirror .
